he Lock House has hosted a War of 1812 Commemoration event for over 20 years.
During that time, the event has drawn enthusiastic crowds eager to watch a dedicated group or re-enactors re-live that memorable event in our nation’s history.
On May 3, 2013 we commemorated the Bi-centennial of the attack on Havre de Grace. Hundreds of re-enactors and nearly 25,000 people converged in what was a great city-wide event — probably the largest in our history.
While we will continue to mark the War of 1812’s connection with Havre de Grace in our Museum, we will not be holding a re-enactment event in 2015. We will make a decision about 2016 later in the year.
Thanks to all re-enactor units who have participated in the past and to all those of you who attended.
Please be sure to check other local museums and historic sites for events they are hosting to commemorate the war.
