A Beloved Tradition at the Lock House Museum

Each December, the Lock House Museum invites you to step back in time for one of Havre de Grace’s most magical evenings—the Annual Candlelight Tour. This cherished tradition showcases the town’s rich history and timeless beauty through a festive walking tour of historic homes, churches, and landmarks.

Glowing with candlelight, each stop along the tour offers a warm welcome inside, with holiday décor, historic charm, and a glimpse into the stories that shaped our community. The evening celebrates the spirit of Havre de Grace—neighbors gathering, visitors discovering, and history coming alive.

The Candlelight Tour is more than an event—it’s a celebration of light, tradition, and community spirit.

Located in the heart of Havre de Grace, MD, our museum offers a unique glimpse into the life of a lock keeper and the rich history of the river canal. Enjoy guided tours, interactive exhibits, and special activities for all ages.
Tickets are just $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12, and free for children under 6. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to connect with history and enjoy a lovely day outdoors!
